Cliffhanger: one word, 3 activities - climbing, iron way and a 70 metre leap into the void. Not for the faint hearted.
New for 2017, the cliff-hanger is the very latest in extreme sports. It all starts with a half hour walk towards the cliff wall.
Then, accompanied by a professional mountain guide, you'll embark on an hour and a half climb on a very exposed rocky ridge, from which you'll enjoy fantastic views of the peaks of Val di Peio in the Stelvio National Park.
It's when you get to the top that the real fun begins, with a double-roped 70 metre plunge, during which you'll get the same thrill that Sylvester Stallone experienced in the famous film of the same name. When you get to the bottom, you come back up by means of an iron way over a rocky ledge, which takes you to the Plan della Vegaia, where you'll see trenches and tunnels cut out of the rock during the first world war for the movement of arms and munitions. The return is an easy 1 hour walk back to the car park that we started from.
We've taken the expression cliff-hanger literally and applied it to this scintillating sporting activity for people that want to put themselves to the test. If you have a fear of heights or weigh more than 100 Kg, this isn't for you. Safety is guaranteed by the professional mountain guide with many years of experience behind him.
If you decide to take part in the cliffhanger, the centre will provide you with harnessing, a helmet, ropes and all the other technical equipment you need to guarantee your full safety. You'll have to supply your own comfortable layered clothing and windproof garments, walking boots with vibram soles (trainers aren't recommended), rucksack (don't pack anything into it that you don't really need), water bottle, a light snack, sunglasses and sunscreen.
Why not come and try out this fantastic new outdoor activity? Put yourself to the test in a completely safe way, with professional mountain guides watching over you. We look forward to seeing you.
